The Mississauga Halton Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) has released its new Integrated Health Service Plan: Partnering for a Healthy Community. The plan builds on the LHIN’s accomplishments and leverages the strengths of local collaborative, innovative leaders and partners.

Board Chair Graeme Goebelle of the Mississauga Halton LHIN said, “We are energized by the direction in which we are heading. The plan represents the voices of our citizens and identifies what is needed to build a stronger system of care that focuses on the needs of the diverse people living in our community.”

Through various engagements, LHIN staff heard from those who provide and receive care in the Mississauga Halton LHIN. Partnering for a Healthy Community represents what is most important to people – getting the care they need when they need it; ensuring resources are available, now and in the future; and having a good care experience and positive outcome when they use the health care system. Accordingly, three strategic priorities have been identified for the next three years:

Access:
Health care when and where you need it
Capacity: Required resources, now and for the future
Quality: Positive person experiences and outcomes across the care continuum

Chief Executive Officer Bill MacLeod of the Mississauga Halton LHIN said, “As the health care system continues to evolve, we remain pivotal in health system transformation and are committed to putting people and patients first by improving the health care experience. We continue to monitor our progress and be flexible in our approach to meet the changing needs of our residents.”
