Get Involved!

The Mississauga Halton LHIN wants to work with you to improve health services in our communities.  Please review the volunteer opportunities listed below to learn about how you can Get Involved!

MH LHIN Primary Health Care Steering Committee

The Mississauga Halton Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) is inviting applications for the Primary Health Care Steering Committee.

We are recruiting family physicians from the following categories:

  • Two (2) community based family physicians practicing within the MH LHIN who are not affiliated with a Family Health Team or a hospital based family practice unit
  • One (1) family physician working in a MH LHIN Family Health Team
  • One (1) family physician associated with a hospital’s Family Practice Department

A Primary Health Care Steering Committee is being established and we are looking for interested family physicians to sit on this Committee.

Your role is to help improve the delivery of primary health care for patients, and to facilitate connections for family physicians to available resources, including other care providers. An expected time commitment is between 12 - 20 hours per year based on a quarterly meeting schedule.

The Mississauga Halton LHIN has identified “Strengthening Primary Health Care” as a strategic priority in the 2010-2013 Integrated Health Services Plan. An important aspect of this priority is to engage the primary health care community on specific strategic initiatives of the Mississauga Halton LHIN.

This open call for members is in addition to other candidates being recruited from specific organizations as listed in the Terms of Reference. Click here to view the Terms of Reference .

To apply for one of these important volunteer opportunities, please submit a completed Expression of Interest and a copy of your resume to the Mississauga Halton LHIN via email, fax or direct mail by April 1, 2010. All applicants will be evaluated against a pre-determined set of criteria to ensure we have the right balance of skills, experience, and geographical interests.

Thank you for your interest in the Mississauga Halton LHIN’s Primary Health Care Steering Committee and in the work of the LHIN!

Community Engagement in the Mississauga Halton LHIN

As it is local residents who are best able to determine their health service needs and priorities, listening to our communities is an important part of our work at the Mississauga Halton LHIN.

There are currently no events scheduled at this time.  If you would like to participate in future events, please contact Kim Delahunt at the Mississauga Halton LHIN.
